Alex Aston

Alex lectures in Archaeology and Anthropology at Keble College Oxford, and is on the board of directors with the Centre for Cognitive Archaeology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Alex's work lies at the intersection of Cognitive Archaeology, Deep History and Philosophy of Nature, examining the relationship between ecology, material culture and social cognition.

Alex has worked as a stone mason, community organiser and collaborative artist focused on issues of environment, social, cultural and economic resilience for nearly two decades.

He have helped to establish community collectives, free schools, participatory art projects, sustainability and education programs in several international projects.
